YOUTH RULES
8-U (2015 & after)
9-10 (2013-2014)
11-12 (2011-2012)
(Birth years will adjust each year)
The philosophy of the youth program is to keep kids in the sport. Changes need to be made to make this successful.
1.NO COACHING from the corner.
No talking during wrestling. Wrestlers will be allowed a 10 second break for coaching between periods.
We want the kids to have no pressure from either side while wrestling.
REMINDER TO PARENTS
We would like parents to enjoy their kids competition.
If you take your kids to Burger King for winning also take them to Burger King for losing. Its not the wins and losses.
Encourage your child to work and have fun.
2. NO HEADLOCKS –
A headlock cannot be thrown from the feet or used in a pinning position.
A headlock is considered anytime the head and arm are encircled together.
The reason for NO HEADLOCK-
1. We want kids to learn to wrestle without relying on one move.
2.When the head and arm are encircled there is a chance of airway constriction.
3.Jr Hi and High School will do WAAAM RULES and Scoring.
4.Youth will follow MHSAA rules and scoring, with modifications.
